Irina Shayk (born Irina Shaykhlislamova and also credited as Irina Sheik born on January 6, 1986 in Yemanzhelinsk, Russia. She is known for her 2007 through 2011 appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She is the cover model for the the Sports Illustrated 2011 issue.
Russian born model Irina’s mother is Russian and late father Valeri was of Tatar origin. She has one sister named Tatiana. Irina looks like a South American and says that she got her unusual looks from her father. As his father was Tatar, he was dark skinned and was looking like a Brazillian. She says that she got her light eyes from her mother.
Irina’s father was working as a coal miner while her mother was a music teacher in a kindergarten.
Irina’s was affected from her mother and started to play piano at 6 and then enrolled in a music school. She studied there for 7 years, both singing in the core and also playing piano. Irina had a poor family and his father died when she was 14. Her mother had to work two jobs to provide her family.
Irina Shayk stutied marketing after high school but she was not happy so she entered a locak beauty school with her sister Tatiana. A person from a local modeling agency noticed her here. Then she participated in the “Miss Chelyabinsk 2004″ beauty contest and won. The famous modeling scout Guia Jikidze noticed her and recommended that she become a model.
When Irina was 19, she started modeling career in Paris. She succeeded to be the face of Intimissimi in 2007 and then debuted in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She was appeared in many phootoshoots of SI after that.
Irina Shayk’s fame started to spread. She appeared on cover of Paris Capital, Annabelle, Bolero, Woman, Jalouse, Ocean Drive, GQ South Africa and Elle Spain magazines. She also had contracts with Beach Bunny in 2009 and Guess spring/summer 2009. She started to work with IMG Modeling Agency in 2009. She modeled the Armani Exchange spring/summer 2010 campaign.
In 2010, Irina Shayk starred in Kanye West’s clip called “Power”.
Irina Shayk appeared nude in the GQ Spain December issue. She was actually wearing a lingerie but photos digitally altered.
In 2011, she succeeded to appear on the cover of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. That was a great success and she was the first Russian to appear on the cover of SI. Irina appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and announced that she is the covermodel of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She also became face of famous swim label Luli Fama’s 2011 advertising campaign in early 2011.
Here are her more successes: She was chosen as the Best International Model of 2010 by Glamour Spain. She ranked number 1 in the “50 Hottest Russian Women” list by Complex magazine. She ranked 10th in the “Top 20 Sexiest Models” list on Models.com.
Irina Shayk, who has awesome full lips and dangerous curves, has been dating famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo since May 2010.
